What:
A new U.S President...proud American business icons pleading for government welfare...extremely volatile markets that make "corrections" of the past look like child's play...deflation today, inflation tomorrow, "stagflation" next? When will it stop and what more should we expect?
Come to NIRICO's January 8th meeting to hear George Mokrzan, a leading economist, provide his view on the current state of the U.S. and Global economies and what we might expect in 2009.
For over a decade, George Mokrzan has provided economic analysis and forecasting for Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, a $56 billion regional bank holding company headquartered here in Columbus. Mokrzan performs macroeconomic analyses of the U.S. and world economies in support of Huntington's investment management business, the Private Financial and Capital Markets Group. He serves on the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) of the American Bankers' Association and is one of nine economists chosen from geographically diverse areas of the United States to provide guidance on banking and economic issues for the EAC. Mokrzan has served on the OCC Economists' Roundtable and other public service providing organizations. He is also a contributor to the Greater Columbus Blue Chip Economist Forecast, a report of the Columbus economy sponsored by the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce.
